Tours: tickets, transport and what is separate

A day tour is usually several things stitched together: the road, an activity, maybe a boat. Understanding which part is which prevents confusion on the day.

Road, boat and walking are separate

The vehicle covers the road portion. A boat trip or a guided walk is its own element, with its own schedule and conditions. Read the tour description to see which parts are included in a given plan.

Entrance tickets are optional

Where a site or attraction charges entry, tickets are treated as optional extras you can add or buy yourselves, rather than hidden in the price. Check the tour page and confirm with the desk what your booking includes.

Currency and cash

Foreign exchange amounts are indicative only. Plan for small cash expenses on the day such as drinks or souvenirs, and note that card acceptance varies by venue.

Stops on the route

Stops that were not agreed in advance, such as shopping or a restaurant the driver suggests, are not part of the plan. If you want a stop, agree it with the desk beforehand. You are never obliged to buy anything at an unapproved stop.
